Woon Pioniers is an Amsterdam-based Dutch sustainable architecture bureau and collective housing consultancy founded in 2015, specialising in biobased construction and participatory development models. The studio designs and guides the realisation of ecologically responsible homes, plots, and entire sustainable neighbourhoods, focusing on radically sustainable timber construction methods, hemp insulation, and locally sourced natural materials. Their Canvas system brings sustainable architecture principles to multi-storey collective residential buildings, while individual projects such as the Sprout Ruben and Marjolein house demonstrate how a domestic dwelling can be built almost entirely from biobased materials. Woon Pioniers also provides CPO (collective private commissioning) guidance, helping groups of residents navigate the process of developing shared, circular housing projects. The studio serves clients across the Netherlands, combining architectural design expertise with a deep commitment to ecological responsibility and community-led development.
