The single model featured a sleek aluminum and glass exterior, smart home technology, fold-out bed, and a full suite of contemporary amenities — essentially a fully equipped studio apartment in a tiny footprint, starting at around $89,000. Kasita gained significant attention for its design-forward approach and was marketed as an ideal accessory dwelling unit or urban infill solution. After an initial run serving the Austin area, the company shifted direction under new leadership, pivoting away from direct consumer home sales toward exploring the micro-hospitality and pop-up hotel segment. Units built during the original residential phase remain in active use across Austin as ADUs.
